Berks Mutual Aid Society

COVID-19 endangers all of us, but particularly the most vulnerable – the sick, elderly and immunocompromised who are asked to stay home, working people who are losing wages when businesses close or reduce hours, and anyone experiencing financial hardship.

Berks Stands Up and Sunrise Berks have established the Berks Mutual Aid Society – a volunteer effort to match pressing needs with available resources in our community. We invite you to ask for what you need and give what you are able.

Mutual aid works both ways. Please click on the button to fill out our intake form:

We can’t stop now.

This moment is exposing dysfunctions and disparities in our system of government that desperately need to be fixed. We need a healthcare system that can provide care for everyone. We need policy that guarantees paid sick leave, so that workers don’t have to choose between their economic survival and their health and safety. We need to be able to protect the most vulnerable in a crisis like this, including undocumented immigrants, homeless people, people in assisted living facilities, and incarcerated people. It is vital that we look out for each other—for every member of our community—and advocate for the changes so many people need.
